During their initial visit to SKSN, in November 2002, the trustees of Polio Children were shocked to see a complete lack of milk and ghee (clarified butter) in the children's diet.

A 3-month trial of "milk & ghee" project was therefore funded whereby every child at SKSN received a glass of milk and a teaspoonful of ghee daily.

The results were simply astounding! There was a 60% reduction in the number of children requiring medical attention for common ailments.

Encouraged by this initial success, Polio Children is funding the establishment of an in-house dairy aimed at making the institution self-sufficient in the provision of these critical needs.
