Entrance of the new girls hostel at SKSN

Polio Children is supporting SKSN in an innovative scheme to provide education and accommodation to 100 physically disabled girls.

At present there are 40 day-scholar girls who reside in a makeshift dormitory. Another 60 girls are on the waiting list. Completion of the hostel will not only provide safe accommodation but also an opportunity of a lifetime to the girls desperately waiting to enroll at this institution.

Chronic draught conditions in this part of rural Rajasthan has made the economic problems of the local community worse. The peasant farming community is barely able to meet it's most basic needs leaving it's disabled children unsupported and often neglected.

Construction of the hostel began in May 2003 and was completed on schedule for 100 Girls to board in July 2004.
