Dipak ‘Dip’ Tanna was born in Kenya. He came to the U.K in 1974 to study and graduated in 1981 with a degree in Engineering Mathematics from Bristol University. In 1983, he set up Talkdata Limited, an IT consultancy company which he continues to run today.
Dip is an avid outdoorsman who has engaged himself in a number of activities to raise funds for various charities. For example, in 1986, he set up Mountain Bike Aid and became the first person to cycle up Mt. Kenya to its third highest peak, then climb to the summit, raising money for a water project in Kenya.
Years later he returned to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa’s tallest peak) to raise funds for Polio Children and the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).
Dip lives with his wife and 2 young sons in Cambridge where he splits his time between his family, West Ham United and raising funds for a variety of charities. It was while watching his beloved West Ham play that he met Arun Patel and became inspired to help Polio Children.Back to the top
