  • Over the years, Polio Children has provided more than £5,400 ($8,181) for the purchase of bedding and footwear so that the children can bear the harsh winters of the Thar desert. “These provisions helped us a great deal in keeping warm. But I still don’t like winters!” Raj Kanwar, student at SKSN, 2000-2009.
  • In 2003, a generator was purchased at a cost of £5,000 ($7,550) so that the children could continue studying at night.
  • Necessary personal hygiene items for the girls were also provided.

“Providing personal hygiene items for the girls has boosted their morale beyond all imagination. Most of our girls come from rural areas where they led lives of isolation, shame, and depression. Small things like this have not only improved their self-esteem but they now walk around with dignity.” – Smt. Mithilesh  Kanwar (Warden, Senior Girls’ Hostel)
